Roberto Armien, Head Instructor - "Mestre Folclore"

Roberto "Folclore" Armien has always loved martial arts and took Shotokan Karate and Kickboxing as a teenager. After seeing a capoeira demonstration he went to a class in 2000 and hasn't stopped training since. In 2005 Folclore began teaching on his own as the first instructor for the UCF Capoeira Club, opening his first school in 2007. Through continued dedication and learning, Folclore was promoted to the level of "Mestre" (master) in 2022. He continues to teach and grow capoeira in an effort to help usher in the next generation of capoeiristas.

Omar Vasquez - "Instrutor Pipoca"

Omar "Pipoca" Vazquez started his Capoeira journey in 1994 after being inspired by the movie "Only the Strong." He was immediately obsessed with capoeira! In time he took a break from capoeira to pursue other passions. In returning to capoeira and reigniting his love for the art, he has become even more devoted to his practice. In 2022 his dedication was recognized as he earned the title of "Instrutor."

Will Mason - "Instrutor Leão"

Will "Leão" Mason was one of Mestre Folclore's first students at the UCF Capoeira Club in the early 2000s and has stayed connected to capoeira since. Leão was promoted to the rank of "Instrutor" in 2022 and continues to teach in the academy in East Orlando.

Kira Poletis - "Instrutora Faísca"

Kira "Faísca" Poletis previously practiced Taekwondo and Muay Thai before beginning her capoeira journey in 2012 in her home state of New Jersey. Soon after, she moved to Orlando and joined Capoeira Guerreiros. In 2022, Faísca graduated to the rank of "Instrutora." She has years of experience teaching yoga and often assists with classes at Capoeira Orlando.
